Abatement & Demolition of
Electrostatic Precipitators

Decontamination, Aerial Separation, Demolition

Wisconsin

This scope of work comprised of the removal of an Electro-Static Precipitator and associated ductwork, piping and structural steel at this active generating station located on Lake Michigan.  Prior to the demolition of the precipitator, Stryker decontaminated the precipitator of its asbestos containing material, coal ash dust and residues. Due to the proximity to the body of water and dust migration concerns, Stryker implemented a strict air monitoring program, and utilized high vacuum units to remove the residues prior to commencement of disassembly and demolition activities. After demolition and removal of the required structures and equipment, Stryker and its subcontractor installed weather-proof coverings, walls and secured the building and remaining structures from the elements.

This project was completed successfully, after 19,411 man-hours worked.
