Selective Decontamination
of an
Active Chemical Plant

De-Inventory, Decontamination, Decommission

Pennsylvania

Stryker DES was awarded the task of decontaminating select equipment, conveyance, and vessels at an active chemical plant.  The contaminates of concern were Barium-based chemicals in various states of matter, concentrations, and volumes.  Stryker DES utilized various material pumping, pressure washing, and vacuuming techniques to remove the waste materials.  Chemical wastes and decontamination waste fluids were containerized, sampled, analyzed, and staged for off-site disposal by the Client.  Accessing piping & vessel interiors required select demolition and, in some cases, asbestos abatement.  Stryker DES, as a PA licensed abatement contractor, was able to turnkey the project using its own staffing, and with minimal subcontracting.

This project was completed successfully, after 12,677 man-hours worked.
